  • FlightScope’s latest FS Golf update gives home golfers more control over what a practice session looks like and what it asks them to do. The October 6 announcement includes adjustable targets, a reorganized video gallery and saved settings that reduce the setup needed before the first swing.

Friendly Golfer’s same-day walkthrough puts those changes on screen. The creator starts in the PC app, saves a preferred starting club and ball, then rearranges his data tiles so the numbers he regularly checks appear nearer the front.

  • That is a useful starting point for a home bay used for repeated practice. A golfer can return to a familiar layout while keeping the session’s purpose visible. In the demonstration, the creator prioritizes club path and face-to-path data rather than accepting the default order.

  • The range display also gets more controls. Friendly Golfer shows camera height and offset adjustments, a top-view overlay and shot groupings. FlightScope’s announcement describes targets with adjustable distance, size and offset, plus a randomization option for golfers who want their next shot to ask a different question.

The video tools make saved swings easier to revisit. A central gallery collects clips, and the app identifies highlights by carry, ball speed, club speed and smash factor. Two swings can be played side by side in sync, with markup tools available for reviewing differences.

There is also a light mode intended to make the interface easier to see outdoors. The creator says he briefly tried it outside and found the white data blocks useful. That is his observation from a short test.

  • Feature access still deserves attention. FlightScope’s UK release says Smart Data Margins is included for X3 and X3C users, while Mevo+ and Mevo Gen2 owners need the Pro Package for that feature. The broader update is announced at no additional cost; that does not make every existing paid capability free.

For a simulator owner, the clearest change is a more configurable practice workspace. Set the information you want to see, give the session a target, and use the recorded swings to examine what happened.
