Getting Started
New to SGT? Start here for setup and basics
What is Simulator Golf Tour (SGT)?
Simulator Golf Tour (SGT) is the premier competitive platform for GSPro players worldwide. It provides organized tournaments, leagues, rankings, and community features that allow you to compete against players from around the globe. SGT integrates directly with GSPro to track your scores, manage handicaps, maintain course records, and provide comprehensive statistics for competitive play.
How do I join SGT?
To get started with SGT:
- Visit the SGT website and create an account
- Link your GSPro account to your SGT profile
- Join the SGT Discord community for announcements and support
- Browse available tournaments and register for events
- Complete your rounds in GSPro - scores sync automatically
Check the SGT Quick Start guide in the documentation for detailed setup instructions.
Is SGT free to use?
SGT offers both free and premium participation options:
- Basic Subscription: Grants access to tour events via the tours menu. Many tournaments are free to enter.
- Pro Subscription: Required for participating in user-managed leagues or establishing new leagues (found under leagues menu).
- Premium Events: Some tournaments may have entry fees with prize pools.
- Club Memberships: Private clubs may require membership fees.
Check individual event details for specific entry requirements and fees.
What do I need to participate?
To compete in SGT tournaments, you need:
- Valid GSPro license and installation
- Compatible launch monitor (see GSPro FAQ)
- SGT account linked to your GSPro profile
- Internet connection for score submission
- Discord account (recommended for community access)
Your PC should meet GSPro's recommended specs for smooth gameplay during competitive rounds.
Why are my scores not recording on SGT? I am still showing as needing to play round 1.
Your player name used in GSPro must match your SGT username exactly! Follow the quick start guide precisely to ensure proper connection. The presence of tournaments in-game doesn't verify correct username entry—only the ID matters. Double-check that your GSPro username matches your SGT username character-for-character, including capitalization.
Can others join and play in SGT events on my sim?
Yes. Ensure they input their SGT username and ID per the quick start guide. Multiple players can participate in rounds together on the same event and round. Each player must have their own SGT account and use their own username/ID combination in GSPro for scores to record properly.
Tournaments & Tours
Event types, registration, and scoring
What types of tournaments are available?
SGT offers various tournament formats:
- Tour Events: Multi-round tournaments that are part of ongoing tour series
- One-Off Tournaments: Standalone events with unique formats
- Flighted Tournaments: Players grouped by skill level for fair competition
- Skins Games: Compete for individual hole prizes
- Team Events: Squad-based competition
- Club Championships: Private events for club members
How do I join a tournament?
- Browse active events on the SGT Home page
- Click on a tournament to view details (dates, format, courses, entry requirements)
- Click "Join" or "Register" if the event is open for entries
- For tour events, you may need to join the tour first
- Complete your round(s) within the tournament window
- Scores are automatically submitted from GSPro
Pay attention to registration deadlines and round submission dates for each event.
How does scoring work?
SGT automatically captures your scores from GSPro when you play tournament rounds. The platform supports multiple scoring formats:
- Stroke Play: Lowest total score wins
- Stableford: Points-based scoring system
- Match Play: Hole-by-hole competition
- Net Scoring: Uses handicaps for fair competition
- Gross Scoring: Raw scores without handicap adjustment
Leaderboards update in real-time as players complete their rounds.
Can I quit a round and resume later?
Yes, though stopping at a tee box before the 18th hole is recommended. Never quit after hitting out-of-bounds without selecting a drop option, as this corrupts the save file. GSPro will save your progress, and you can resume the round later. Make sure to complete the round before the tournament deadline.
Why am I listed as DQ on the tournament leaderboard?
Certain tours enforce eligibility restrictions. Disqualification indicates unmet requirements. Common reasons for DQ include:
- Not meeting tour-specific handicap requirements
- Missing the round submission deadline
- Not being a member of the required subscription tier
- Tournament-specific eligibility rules not met
Details are available at simulatorgolftour.com/tours-explained.
How are tournament tie breaks determined?
Tiebreaker sequence:
- Back 9 totals of final round
- Front 9 totals of final round
- Prior rounds from most recent backward
- Hole-by-hole index count-back from last round
What is the future tour schedule?
Events aren't pre-scheduled far in advance; they display upon opening. Check the SGT Home page regularly for newly announced tournaments and events. Join the Discord community for early announcements about upcoming tours and special events.
When do events close?
Most events close around 9 AM CST on Mondays. Complete your rounds by Sunday evening to ensure timely submission. Always check the specific event page for exact deadlines, as some special tournaments may have different closing times.
Handicaps & Rankings
How handicaps and WGR work in SGT
How do handicaps work in SGT?
SGT maintains an automatic handicap system based on your completed rounds. Your handicap:

- Is displayed on your profile page
- Can be used in net scoring events for adjusted competition
Visit your Profile > Handicap page for detailed handicap information and history.
What is WGR (World Golf Ranking)?
