VTrack owners have a first look at the next version of the launch monitor's Toolkit software. In a 10-minute video posted October 28, 2nd Flight Golf runs through the 3.0.2 beta and says the public release is coming in November, "just a few short weeks away." The official build on Laon SwingCraft's notice board is still VTrack ToolKit 2.4.3, posted July 27, so everything below is beta behavior as shown in the video.

The most obvious change is the look. The dashboard has been rebuilt, and the old combined menu is now two. Setup holds network setup, calibration and ball check. Options holds the play settings: which simulator software you use, which display the Toolkit opens on, the color the golfer icon turns when the ball is ready, and the replay cameras.
The data panels can be dragged around the screen, hidden and brought back, and some of them zoom. The impact panel can show a heat map or the exact strike point. A ball spin panel shows the ball he is actually hitting. There are five color schemes: VTrack, Classic, Glass, Projector and Basic. He prefers Classic.

Shot history and players
The beta logs shots. A History tab keeps your shot history, and you can add players and run sessions with more than one golfer. He says he has not tested exporting yet. Picking your club in the Toolkit doesn't change what the simulator receives, he notes, but it gets you the right club image and impact data on screen. Right- and left-handed modes are there too.
Swing replay moves inside
In the current Toolkit, swing replay is an overlay window with two cameras side by side. In 3.0 the camera feeds sit inside the Toolkit, and you can drag the replay panel out as its own window, enlarge it or put it on another display, then drop it back in. He shows it with two SwingEZ cameras. He also points to VTrack Connect, the free phone app that turns a phone into a swing camera after a QR code scan. Two phones give you two angles.
There is a new Record button. He hasn't tried it yet and says he is asking Laon about it, but his read is that it saves video of your shots on your computer, which would mean no more OBS just to capture a lesson clip.
What to do now
If you own a VTrack, there is nothing new to install from Laon's official channel yet; 2.4.3 is the current release. Watch Laon's notice board for the 3.0 download in November. VTrack is one of the nine launch monitor brands PurePlay lists as officially supported for its November 6 early access, so a refreshed Toolkit lands at a busy moment for VTrack owners.
