Andrew Novak won the VidantaWorld Mexico Open on Sunday by five shots at 25-under 259, his first individual PGA Tour title. In Little Rock, Darren Fichardt eagled the 18th to beat Zach Johnson by one at the Simmons Bank Championship.
Numbers of the week
- 25 under, by five. Novak's 259 is the Mexico Open's 72-hole record, and the five-shot margin beats Tony Finau's three in 2023.
- 37 for 37. Novak made every putt inside 10 feet over the first three rounds and finished 53 of 58 from that range. He arrived 158th on Tour in Strokes Gained: Putting and led the field in it.
- 46th to 17th. Fichardt started the week 46th in Schwab Cup points, outside the top 36 who reach the finale. His closing 64 moved him to 17th and secured a 2027 card after four Monday qualifiers this season.
- Five wins, fastest from Japan. Miyu Yamashita's Maybank defense is her fifth LPGA title, the quickest any Japanese player has reached five. She is also the first Japanese player with three wins in one LPGA season since Ai Miyazato in 2010.
- Since 2008. Bernhard Langer finished 45th in points and misses the Schwab Cup finale for the first time since joining the senior tour full time.
