Jon Rahm will take a one-shot lead into the final round of the Abu Dhabi Aldar Championship after a 6-under 66 on Saturday at Yas Links.
The DP World Tour has him at 18-under 198. Tyrrell Hatton and Francesco Laporta each shot 67 and sit at 17 under. Rory McIlroy is alone in fourth at 16 under after a five-under 67 that mixed eight birdies with a double bogey and a late bogey.
Rahm started the third round tied with Hatton and Laporta at 12 under. He was quiet early, then went birdie-eagle-birdie from the 10th. A birdie at the 12th put him alone at the top, and another at the 15th kept Hatton and Laporta at arm's length. The three of them will play together again Sunday.

McIlroy had shared the lead earlier in the day. He birdied the second, then stacked three straight gains to close the front nine. A double bogey at the 10th dropped him, but he answered with four birdies in a row from the 11th, including a drive onto the green at the par-4 14th. A bunker miss at the par-3 17th cost him a bogey and left him two behind Rahm.
Adam Scott is still bogey-free for the week. His 66 put him fifth at 15 under, one behind McIlroy. Three Masters champions sit in the top five: Rahm, McIlroy and Scott.
The Abu Dhabi stop is the first of the DP World Tour's two-week playoffs, a $9 million Rolex Series event that sends the top 50 into next week's $10 million finale in Dubai. McIlroy is chasing a record-tying eighth Race to Dubai title and is projected to climb to No. 2 behind Eugenio Chacarra after Saturday.
