How it played
The test ran in on-course practice at Apple Valley, a GSPro verified course. A few results stood out:
- Cut shots into the green kicked right as the new tilt effect describes. High draws didn't clearly release left, and he wasn't sure whether he was reading the feature wrong.
- Full 56-degree wedges at about 105 yards came in at roughly 8,600 to 10,000 rpm and mostly hopped and stopped, with less spin-back than the previous build.
- Switching from Soft Parkland to Traditional Links made chips bounce forward noticeably more. "The course profile is working," he said.
- On Soft Parkland, short chips still took a big forward hop he didn't like. One carried 22 yards and finished at 28.
He also noted that physics 2.0 arrived only seven to ten days earlier. In his view, 2.0 left short chips bouncing too much and long irons a bit too soft and spinny.
What to do
If you run the GSPro beta, try the same chip on two profiles before you judge physics 2.1. It's still a beta, and the tester repeated that point throughout. If you'd rather not deal with bugs, stay on stable and watch for the November release.
