  • This is the morning after Big John's playoff putt knocked out Peter Finch's team. Thirty-two players are left. Each player on the team that wins the whole event takes $1.3 million, according to WITBhub's event guide.

    Same teams, two new rules

Dave Portnoy offered a redraft if either side wanted one. Neither did, so White and Green stayed together. Each captain set his own pairings, and the committee matched them up.

  • There were two twists for the nine-hole scramble. Each team got one shot from Kevin Kisner, one of the event's rules officials, to be used whenever it chose. And the ninth hole, which every pair had to play even after its match was over, was worth $50,000, or $25,000 a player. A tie on the ninth carried the money to the next group.

  • Where the money went

The Duke went out in the first group and holed the putt on the ninth, which paid $25,000 each to him and Bobby Ray. Then the money got bigger. The next two matches tied the ninth, and those ties rolled the pot forward, so when Spiranac and Adams reached the hole all square with Andolpho and Boucher, it was worth $200,000. Adams nearly holed his iron shot. Spiranac made the putt to win the match 1UP, and the pot split to $25,000 apiece for the eight White players in the last four groups.

The Kisner shot got used too. In the Salim and Gruden match, Green called him in late and his nine-iron came up short in the wind. White then used its shot, and Kisner switched to an eight-iron and hit it to about 12 feet to help Salim and Gruden win the hole. They won the match 3&1.

Green's only full point came in the last group. Bobby Fairways and Bryan were two down with three to play against Ruffels and Riggs, then won all three holes.

    The cart, again

Somebody drove a golf cart through a fence at Big Cedar again. The event's own account posted the clip about four hours after the premiere.

  • What's next

Sixteen singles points are left on Day 2, and 12.5 wins the day, so White needs 6.5 and Green needs 10.5. Episode 4 drops Thursday, Nov. 5, at 1 p.m. ET on Fore Play Golf's YouTube channel. If you only have a few minutes, skip to the $200,000 ninth hole.
