Nelly Korda clinches LPGA Player of the Year with three events left
Korda wrapped up the 2026 Rolex Player of the Year award Tuesday when Jeeno Thitikul and Miyu Yamashita stayed out of The Annika. It's her second in three years and puts her one point from the LPGA Hall of Fame.

Nelly Korda is the LPGA's 2026 Rolex Player of the Year. She locked it up Tuesday afternoon without hitting a shot, when the registration deadline for The Annika passed at 5 p.m. ET and neither Jeeno Thitikul nor Miyu Yamashita had signed up.
Those two were the only players left with a mathematical path, and both needed to win every remaining event. Haeran Ryu, second in the standings, had already dropped out of the chase. Golf Digest, citing the Associated Press, says she is missing this week's Toto Japan Classic with a finger ligament injury she picked up in a golf cart during a pro-am.
It's Korda's second Player of the Year award in three years. She's 28 and has been on a two-month break from the tour. The day before the award became official, her hometown of Bradenton, Florida, gave her the key to the city and declared Nov. 2 "Nelly Korda Day."

The final standings
Here is the LPGA's Player of the Year points table as of Tuesday. A win is worth 30 points, and three events remain.
Rank Player Points 1 Nelly Korda 239 2 Haeran Ryu 176 3 Miyu Yamashita 156 4 Jeeno Thitikul 155 5 Ruoning Yin 120 Korda built the lead early. She won four of her first eight starts, including the season's first two majors, and nobody caught up.
One point from the Hall of Fame
The award carries one LPGA Hall of Fame point, which gives Korda 26 of the 27 she needs. The next one makes her the 36th member, according to Golf Digest. She can get it with her next LPGA win or another season-ending award.
The Vare Trophy won't be that award. As we covered earlier Tuesday, Korda has played 53 rounds and can't reach the 70-round minimum, even though she leads the tour in scoring average.
What to watch
Korda returns next week at The Annika at Pelican then plays the CME Group Tour Championship in Naples. A win in either one would put her in the Hall. If you're watching from your sim this winter, those two Sundays are the ones to clear the bay for.
