Tom McKibbin is done with LIV Golf. The 23-year-old said in a statement Friday, October 23, that he will not sign with the league for its next chapter and will play a full DP World Tour schedule in 2027. Irish Golfer published the statement, and Mintz Golf and NUCLR Golf shared it on X.
"After two seasons with Legion XIII, I have decided not to sign with LIV Golf for its next chapter," McKibbin said. "Joining LIV Golf was the right decision for me at the time, and I'm grateful for everything it has given me."
He thanked his Legion XIII teammates by name. "Playing alongside Jon, Tyrrell and Caleb taught me more than I could have imagined," he said, adding, "See you in 2027."

Two seasons on Legion XIII
McKibbin joined LIV for the 2025 season and played alongside Jon Rahm, Tyrrell Hatton and Caleb Surratt. Irish Golfer says he won back-to-back team championships with Legion XIII. He did not win an individual LIV event; Spotrac's results show his best finish as a tie for fourth at Andalucía in 2025 and list his LIV earnings at $18,953,607.
He kept a foothold in Europe the whole time. He won the Hong Kong Open last year, which got him into the Masters and the Open Championship, and he recently climbed into the top 100 of the Race to Dubai, which Irish Golfer says secures his full playing privileges for 2027. He sits 107th in the world.
At the British Masters he told The Scotsman, as quoted by Golfmagic, that he still had "a couple of years left" on his LIV contract and that he would play as much DP World Tour golf as he could until the end of the year "and then see what happens."
Legion XIII loses its core
Rahm reached a separation agreement with LIV earlier this month, and Tyrrell Hatton said on Friday afternoon he would not be part of LIV 2.0. McKibbin's news followed Friday exits by Ian Poulter and Branden Grace. His choice also lines up with the DP World Tour's new rule: BBC Sport reports the tour will not accept 2027 members who plan to play LIV, and players have until November 16 to sign up.
What to watch
Look for McKibbin in DP World Tour fields when the 2026/27 season gets going, and keep an eye on the European Ryder Cup standings. Qualification for Adare Manor in 2027 is already under way, and only DP World Tour members can play for Europe. The nearer date is LIV's Sunday, October 25 commitment deadline, which will show who is left for 2.0.
