Twisted Sticks Golf Club

Hidden in the mountains of Newland, Twisted Sticks is a private golf club lost in time. Built in 1874 and carefully restored in the 1960s, the course still feels like a wild-west outpost—complete with rustic buildings, dusty paths, and unpredictable fairways. The members? A crew of eccentric locals, ex-pros with odd routines, and mountain moonshiners who swear their “swing juice” is the secret to breaking par. Membership isn’t bought—it’s earned. Survive a round, embrace the chaos, and you just might get invited back.
