Jackson Koivun's week at Black Desert Resort brings him back to individual golf after the Presidents Cup. Golf Channel paired him with Amy Rogers for a walk-and-talk through the course's black lava, discussing the team competition, the change back to playing for himself and the Utah setting.
Golf Channel published the interview Friday during the Bank of Utah Championship:
Koivun's scoring gives that conversation an immediate competitive backdrop. He followed an opening 69 with a four-under 67, reaching six-under 136 through two rounds. The PGA Tour's Saturday morning leaderboard had him tied for 55th, exactly on the projected cut line.

Getting there required a birdie at the final hole. Field Level Media reports that Koivun played from a fairway bunker at the par-five 18th and converted the putt to reach six under. The finish kept him at the projected number while Austin Smotherman led the tournament at 17 under.
The second round remained unfinished after a darkness suspension left three players with holes to complete. Its scheduled Saturday resumption is 11 a.m. Eastern, so Koivun's score is established while the full cut is still pending.
The interview offers Koivun's perspective on moving between two different kinds of competition. His Friday finish supplies the immediate stakes: after a week representing Team USA, a single birdie mattered to his position in an individual PGA Tour field.
